Prices Will Be Going Down

Wouldn't you just love to get up one day and hear/read on TV, your daily paper, or internet
that prices in general are dropping??? :(

I personally am so sick of the media reporting prices increases every day on food, cars, housing, etc.... and guess what?
We/you/I can't do a dam thing about it except to find a way to cut expenses to get by. :rant-rave:

Now what did I do with my high blood pressure meds.

Nice to hear prices going down but that is deflation and that normally leads to big economic problems.

The media mantra, if it bleeds it leads

Those media stories are mostly click bait.

The inflation rate now is not very different from its average over the long run and much lower than ~1980 when it was double digits. Memories are short.

With every day that passes, life expectancy goes down.
Something to cheer us all up.

Just another example of our mass media telling us something we already know. Or they advise us of FAKE news.. I don't know which is worse.

Prices of milk st things have gone down. Have you looked at your stock portfolio? It’s been skyrocketing, so why would anybody have to cut expenses?

Overall, prices will not go down. Due to the inflation between 2021 and 2024, the 2020 dollar is now worth 80 cents. (That's why the dollar store now sells for $1.25.). Supply and demand and markets will continue to operate as they always have, but the damage done is permanent.

Ponygirl 08-05-2025 06:14 AM

Many dollar store items that were $1.00 then $1.25 are now $1.50

real news would be...

Real news would be prices have went "Down"!

Just like if companies would stop posting "Now hiring" signs. Attention would be more drawn to "Not hiring, we are fully staffed"

Where were 7% mortgages when I purchased my first few homes?

BillyGrown 08-05-2025 06:39 AM

Yes

True, and the prices on homes have been going down here. Why people don’t see bargains is beyond me. 7% mortgages and price decreases of 8-10% equal great business decisions.

Skyrocketing? The Dow is up 500 points from what it was last Friday, yes, but down a thousand points from what it was at its height several weeks ago and from what it was last December. The market isn’t skyrocketing. It’s going up and down. It was down three thousand points in February but is back up a lot since then. That’s a relief. But I’m still waiting to make up what I lost earlier in the year. Gas is still about the same.

Lol.
Yep...I try to find fun things to do in spite of all that. Kayaking in the springs is wonderful
