Eastport/Middleton visit..nails in tire.

Monday we decided to drive down to Eastport, getting fuel, then drove by the new home center.

Then zip down to Portillo’s for a visit. Drove home

Next morning passenger side tires looked a little low, so pumped up and continue day.

By Thursday it was apparent tires had an issue. Called Cart Fixer, yep nails in both tires.

It’s the first time picked up a nail in 15 years. We have always stayed away from areas until fully open. Definitely surprised because the 3 roads we drove on were fully open.

Have been to Middleton at least 30 times never an issue.

So guessing we picked up nails in Eastport.

Just a heads up Costco has golf cart tires, however you have to remove from cart and take in. They strongly suggest emailing corporate to expedite on site tire change.

What a pain!

Were they roofing nails? I was surprised by how many were in our garden after we had a new roof. They had put sheets down to collect any old ones, but removed the sheets before putting on the new roof so any they dropped then...

No way in solving nail problem when you consider all the construction trucks in any given area.
Talking to my neighbors walking their dogs, they always come home with nails they picked up from the streets.

My neighbor across the street bought a new RX Lexus.
The first year had to replace 3 of his 4 tires from nails in the side wall @ $200.00 a tire.

Did you drive thru areas that where still under construction?

Read the original post….and no we Never go to any new location until roads have been fully cleaned of sand and debris, and completely open. Probably the reason no nails for 15 years, in cart or car.

Considering the Home Center, the gas station have been open for a few weeks, I am surprised. Just giving a head up, and they definitely weren’t roofing nails.
