Down home property management is good. They have a lot of properties under contract, this time of year easy to book 2 weeks. After Oct 15th prices drop.

Cheaper to Stay In Villages Hotel
 

Depending on rates, it is likely cheaper to stay in a Villages hotel. They are 100 golf cart friendly and have great pools. It’s about 130 dollars a night with all kinds of perks. IMHO Brownwood seems nicer than Sumter Landing.

A few years ago, before we moved here, we used Airbnb. Got a place up by Sumter for $65 a night with golf cart.

We used Rentfromavillager.com……or something very close to that the first time we came here and could only come for a week.

Has many rentals available on it from short term too long-term

When I came to The Villages over the years, I rented a courtyard villa from Down Home Properties. If you go to their website, you can view the homes available for rent. There were times that I only rented for two weeks -- never more than 4 weeks. Also, the home was clean upon arrival and Down Home Properties was prompt in responding to a call. One of the smoke alarms started chirping one day and they responded promptly to my call.

The Villages Hometown management has lots of short term rentals

Down Home must have gotten a lot better. When I used them as a landlord, they failed to respond to either me or my tenants. They did not respond to emails, telephone messages, etc. I was glad to cancel my contract with them and get a competent property manager.
