Working for TV - Benefits

Interested in maybe picking up a part time role with TV after I retire from my current role.

Does TV offer healthcare benefits covering part time workers and spouses?

I see on their career page that they offer benefits to the full-time workers, but I recall hearing somewhere that part timers could also have eligibility.

Just curious if anyone may know about this...

TIA

I am pretty sure the answer is no. You have to work full time (or at least I think its 32 hours/week) to get health care benefits. I am going by memory as one of my daughters worked briefly for the villages. Of course you can easily ask them, so double check me.

No... unless something has changed

As in all matters, it Depends! The Villages has many businesses and it will likely depend on which business you work for. Golf Ambassadors I don't think do but they get discounted Championship golf. The crux could be the 32 hour mark mentioned above. I would find it hard to believe that they at many, for part time work.

Welcome and good luck!

Part timers have to pay for insurance.

No, part timers don't get benefits.

Part-timers get the option to buy in to the benefits that full-timers get. You don't get sick days, paid holidays, PTO/vacation time. You get paid for the hours you work, and if you work on a holiday you get a higher holiday pay.

Thanks everyone!

NO, they do not offer benefits for part timers. And, they do not offer 8 hour shifts for part timers so they do not have to pay overtime or give lunch breaks. No work, no pay. So, no sick or vacation paid time either. Pay isn't great either, but puts a few bucks in your pocket. Pay is every 2 weeks, direct deposit into your bank account. I worked for them part time at a rec center for 3 years. At Christmas? don't expect a bonus worth anything. NO EXTRA PAY for holidays, as orangeblossom baby says. And a drug test is mandatory.

Benefits and part time work

I believe starbucks might offer some benefits to part time employees. Check out local businesses through monster and Indeed.com. Don’t just focus on the Villages.

Golf Ambassadors did/or get Holiday pay for certain holidays ... I've seen the checks. I believe it was only for Christmas Day & Thanksgiving.

I don't know if anything changed when the District took over paying golf staff (Oct/2023).
