Publix 95th Anniversary. Founded on September 6, 1930.

I have been shopping at various Publix stores here in Florida since moving here from Northern California in the Spring of 1996. Publixes in East Lake, Palm Harbor, Tarpon Springs, Oxford, Lady Lake, Wildwood, etc.

Publix creator -- George W. Jenkins - Wikipedia

Usually met with professional and friendly workers there.

One of these Publix workers was a student of my mother as she taught special needs adults using her background as a Special Ed teacher. The student of my Mom bagged my groceries quite a number of times.

Read other day Walmart should be going in off CR42 in front of Phillips villas or down from VA clinic in big open field in or around 2026.

The Costco does seemed to have taken some of the customers from Walmart and Publix over on CR466. I shop at all three on occasion while throwing in Sprouts and Aldi's as well.

Lots of choices.

I am still learning my way around Costco.

I also shop at places on US 441/27.

There's really no competition. They attract different demographics. And it might actually be a boon for Publix. If Walmart wasn't near me, I wouldn't be buying anything at Publix at all, because it's just too expensive. I'd travel to the nearest Walmart, or buy most of my groceries at Aldi and the rest at Winn Dixie (RIP). But because I save so much at Walmart, AND because Publix is only a few blocks away and across the street, I can afford to splurge on Pub subs and prime beef burger patties and other luxuries I would otherwise never buy. I can do a whole week of regular groceries and get my "luxury food" items in the same trip.

If still here in 27 close to one on 42 we will passing right by Publix except for 3 or 4 items we like at Publix. No Aldi’s close so rarely if ever go there.

I wish their bogo was just 50% off I don’t need two of most things and don’t have space for two.

They are at the Publix in South Carolina.

I do love Publix even if it is a little more expensive, but we are so lucky to have so many great choices of grocery stores.

Don't need 2 items. Shop with a friend.

We love Publix too. We will pick things up at other stores but Publix is our first choice. Like you, we are happy for all the choices.

The mark up covers cost and make little profit even with buy one get one free. They also know people rarely just buys that item, so they get them on mark up other items. Why stores do sale adds/coupons.

Djean1981 09-26-2025 10:48 AM

Very true. I'm happy Walmart is coming to town. Publix charges $1 to $3 more for every item over Aldi's or Walmart. So, the new Walmart will really help those in the south.

For store bought ice cream Publix is the best!!!
