curious about Lake Weir Living?
Doesn't it seem odd that with all the advertising they do, here and other places, that Lake Weir Living doesn't have any signs on major roads (such as 441,301, 42, 25) pointing drivers to its location? Even in Ockalawaha there is no sign.

No, I'm not curious.

What gets me is in their advertising they state that they don't have a homeowners association implying that their fees are one reason to buy in Lake Weir. I can agree with some other things but that is not a reason to not buy in the Villages.

I disagree with Lake Weir(D) advertising on TOTV. But I guess it pays the bills. I'm glad to see that hardly anyone reads their posts which should tell them "We ain't listening and we ain't interested."
Yes, there are other less expensive places to retire to, but no place has the lifestyle The Villages offer. You pay for what you get. |
I'm with you, Tom. I see their ads like a politician whose entire campaign is based on negative ads about his/her competitor. The titles of the ads are very negative towards The Villages, but the body of the ad doesn't follow through.
And you should look at that area on Google Earth or Maps. It's in the middle of nowhere. |
Remember that old saying: "You catch more flies with honey."
Reading all those negative posts makes me feel negatively toward Lake Weir, even though I know nothing else about the place. Guess they want to catch attention, but I believe they could come up with a better way to garner positive attention. It is plainly a case of a poor marketing strategy. |

Lake weir
Hello
I have been over there. there is nothing there . Just some roads cut thru the woods. Compared to the villages it is a dump |
Agree
I know they pay the bills but having been thru there with my daughter, your right on. Dirt roads cut thru the woods. Hell TV s/o 466A looks better then that.
|
IMHO, I think we should go easy on Lake Weir. The postings they make are probably that of one person whose marketing has gotten out of hand and motivated out of jealousy for what TV'ers have!

Well, he (Neil Schuster) seems to like dishing out criticism of TV, let’s see how he is at taking a little of it. Read this for starters:

But as usual you said it much better. I just love you K9...BOTH of you....and whoever typed the above AND the spouse of whoever typed the above. Good morning to you both. |
I live in a town where someone with a $1,000,000 home will park a large boat on their front lawn covered in blue plastic or shrink wrap.
TV is not for everyone. There are people that need their stuff. They look at TV and decide not to move because they can't bring their stuff. Marketing to people that want to move to central Florida but need their stuff could be a winner. Someone that lives in TV full time has already made the decision to reduce the amount of stuff. I need my stuff so we will be snowbirds for a while. |
The Lake has a viable marketing strategy. Find a gap and fill it. Very American Dream type approach. From my standpoint, after watching their videos, I would not by a used car from those guys.
