start to grow again? The weeds are doing fine and as prolifick as ever. However there is very little evidence of new grass....still looks dead (dormant I hope) to me.

I had a fairly good amount re-sodded last October and I do hope the cold weather has not killed it.

The St. Augustine is growing now. The loan care companies have been cutting for a couple weeks now. I cut my last week. Probably will next week. All the lawns in our neighborhood are getting green. Maybe yours didn't root enough or is just a lttle slow. After this week's 80+ degree weather, you should notice a difference.

Usually takes about a week of temps both day and night above 50.

Did you get "Once A Year" to replace your lawn at no charge?

Yeh... Good luck with that!

Mine is greening up pretty good now. Notice some neighbors lawns not so much. We mowed for first time last week and will probably wait another week to mow again. Lawn maintenance company we use for pests and fertilizer told us not to mow so low. Kept it high past mow and seems to be growing better than others that have had lower cut.

I changed my sprinkler for the winter to once a week. What time of year do i go back to twice a week?

Now! When the grass starts growing, and the temperature starts rising, give it plenty of water.

Wait for a nice gentle all day rain, it will then take off.

Hmm. Prolific weeds, no evidence of new grass, still looks dead. By now there should be evidence of new grass. Prolific weeds mean they are hold-overs from last year and indicate an unhealthy lawn. The new grass should be poking up through the dead grass.

I think it is time to get professional advice. St. Augustine lawns are fickle. Take good care of them and they will grow healthy and crowd out weeds. Otherwise they go bad in a hurry and the only recourse is re-sodding. That is spelled $$$$$. Once re-sodded they require constant watering. I have seen a number of lawns re-sodded only to be ignored and now they must be re-sodded again.

My lawn is greening up, but slowly.
