'House maintainers'
 

Sorry if this has been asked before (and I'm relatively sure it has, I just can't turn up anything with the search function), but, where do we get people to check on the house while we are not here. We just bought a home in Pennecamp and will not be full time residents for a couple of years. so we need someone to walk the house periodically to make sure that nothing is amiss.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

We use Mary & Ed Edwards of SafeHomeWatch. They are right on top of things, stopping by the house several times during the week and they report in every week. They have even mailed me an item I left behind and needed back in NJ. Their contact info is Safe Home Watch

VCDD Community Watch to the Rescue!!
 

On page 9 of the current THE VILLAGES telephone book lies the answers. There are three services and a form to complete on page 10.

ADULT WATCH - Community Watch will call during the day at specified times of your choosing to check on a resident's well-being.

RESIDENT OUT OF AREA PROGRAM - if away more than 7 days away, Community Watch will call you if damage was done to your home due to a natural disaster or emergency.

HOUSE CHECK PROGRAM - if away more than 7 days away, Community Watch will check the perimeter of your home several times per week to ensure that all is OK. There is a weekly fee for the HOUSE CHECK PROGRAM.

I use Jan Greiner Snow. She also does dog sitting in your home or hers. Her number is 352-750-0801. Very gracious lady and does a great job!!!

Another vote for Ed & Mary! even when we become fulltimers this summer, we will keep them for when we go on vacations. They are fantastic. Truthfully, if it was not for them, we could have never got all the construction we had done completed.
