"abundant" rain

Does anyone know the total rainfall amount in TV? You could probably add some more to what a rain gage would say, because some of the rains were more horizontal than vertical. I believe it is safe to say that our drought is over for a while now!

According to WFTV at 6:00 tonight Lady Lake had well over 9" of rain, while The Villages clocked in at something like 8 1/2"........these amounts topped any other totals in central Florida.

OMG. Was that a record for the area? Anyone know the previous record? Are there any reports of flooding?

Someone on here posted that this place is planned for water run off to retention ponds which also foster wildlife and water the golf courses.

It seems to be working as planned. I don't see any flooding.

That's impressive! Atlanta is high altitude and has experienced flooding with much less rain. Despite alleged regulations against it, run off from development here is rampant.

All I know is that I was supposed to leave Orlando Airport at 12:07 today. Finally got off the ground at 5:30. The airport was filled with people trying to get out. I knem there would be trouble when the thunder woke me at 4:00 in the morning.

Atlanta floods regularly because its sewer and drainage infrastructure is in serious disrepair. TV does not flood because it's drainage system is very well constructed (except for the rare occasions when the builders have graded the land incorrectly).

Thought I would have to build an Ark...Yipsters!

mold is growing on my shoulder as I speak...Weather report on Channel 9, showed the Villages and Lady Lake with 9.6...Wonder if Glenview CC is ok...
Range is usually the first sign of flooding..

Tom Terry on WFTV's weather last night indicated that the total rainfall in Lady Lake this week was 12". Wow!

I was told yesterday that the 9th green on Havana's Kilimanjaro course was under water.

Yeah, I saw it yesterday. It wasn't completely underwater, but the water was up on the right side of the green. Would have certainly been unplayable.

Hopefully, today is better....
