Phone calls in the middle of the night....

The last two nights, we've received phone calls from an 861 area code. First call was at 1AM, the next one, this morning was at 4AM. The telephone numbers contain an extra three digits, not sure if that's the extension, the message number, etc? First call I answered and could hear voices. The one this AM, I did not answer, but it was annoying to be awakened so very early each day.
Numbers are 861-397-2652151 and 861-388-3160021.
Can't find out anything when I Google the numbers and I'm not going to call either number. Anyone else getting these calls?

No, but I would call my phone company and have them check on it; and put a block on those calls coming through. How annoying!

861 shows up on Google as "not a valid area code."

That could explain the middle of the night calls! Anyway, if it is them, they might just be looking to get some more of our money directly from us just in case loan repayments from.....

bogus numbers

Lots of complaints from that "area code".

Whistle at them

Buy a whistle from the sporting goods department. Keep it by the phone. If you get another one remove the phone from your ear and blow as hard and as long as you can. Even if he does recover his hearing, he will think twice about calling again. This worked for a "heavy breather that called me."

LOL....glad it got rid of the "heavy breather." I tried that once years ago in CA. Can't remember who was calling, but it was very annoying so I took my soccer whistle (coached my son's team at the time) and blew into the phone....damnation, I thought I'd be deaf forever!! I'll see if I get another call tonight. If I do, then it's calls to Comcast to block.

Thanks for the link. I do know it's from SW Florida, but not sure who the caller is. I could hear voices in the background. I didn't say anything, just picked up the phone for the first call. If it rings tonight, I'm going to have the calls blocked. Would hate to be working for that company, apparently you have to work nights....:1rotfl:

They can just call someone else, I don't particularly care to be part of any discussion at 1 in the AM  :D

The voices I heard were speaking English and seemed to be speaking without accents.

Loan repayments...well, they'll just have to.......:D

Interesting. I will probably have to call Comcast and block those freaking numbers. Thanks for the link.

Okay, hubby just finished some research and it appears to be a number from China, Sichuan Provence, town of Yibin. Again, thanks for the link, it got us started correctly on our search! Not bad enough I get calls from the US, now I'm getting them from China...YIKES!

It is annoying, Freeda, especially if you're in the middle of a pretty nice dream.... ;)

Have my phones with Comcast and will have to give them a call to find out if they can trace and block....but I'll wait to see if I have one more call tonight.

Oops, hubby is searching and apparently it is a number from China. Apparently there's someone who speaks very good English at the end of one of these phones.
