Looking For A Dessert Recipe
Wondering if anyone has the name of the recipe that contained the following and can give me the proper amount of ingredients.
cocoa, graham wafer crumbs, egg(s) mini coloured marshallows, marg or butter and probably vanilla It was rolled in coconut, frigerated and when formed cut into slices. Stained glass windows (perhaps this was just our name for it) comes to mind but unable to locate it on the Kraft Canada website. Recipe at least 40 plus yrs. old. Look forward to hearing from anyone who happens to have it or remembers this wonderful treat. Thanks so much. /Donna |
Found this one with a 'Google' search:
STAINED GLASS WINDOW COOKIES 2 (10 oz.) pkg. mint chocolate chips 1/4 c. butter, melted 3/4 to 1 bag sm. colored marshmallows Coconut or ground nuts Melt chocolate in microwave. Stir in butter and let cool. Add marshmallows and stir to mix thoroughly. Spread coconut on tin foil or wax paper. Drop chocolate mix in center lengthwise and make a roll. Roll up with coconut covering the outside of the roll. Cool completely and slice. |
I couldn't find your recipe, but maybe it's church window cookies (lots of different ingredients)? They're rolled into logs; usually have nuts; rolled onto cocoa, coconut, whatever you prefer; and then cut into slices after being refrigerated.
This isn't quite what you described, but the ingredients are close: http://cookeatshare.com/recipes/mars...cker-bars-6775 Hope someone knows exactly what you mean, but at least this should give you the proportions you need for your cookies (they sound yummy!). |

Thanks ladies!!!!
I have not heard it referred to as cookies but more of a square or bar. But seeing as how it is sliced round I can see why it would be called a cookie. Really appreciate the responses. /Donna |
