When you come to The Villages to look at pre-owned homes, definitely use a Villages Realty agent AND an agent from outside The Villages. The reason for this is that Villages Properties can only show homes listed with Villages Properties and cannot show homes listed on Multiple Listing Service (MLS). The outside agents can only show homes listed on MLS.

Use an agent from Realty Executives, Tom Grizzard/ERA, or REMAX as well as your choice from The Villages.

You are wise to look at resales instead of new. Much lower bond in most cases is very important. You can also negotiate price on a resale.

My wife and I are closing on a home in June. We did a lot of online research at The Villages website, FSBO and local realtor sites like Lyle Gant. We are buying a pre-owned through The Villages and worked with Brain Buehler (pronouncer Beeler). He is hard working, friendly, and no pressure.

Welcome to TOTV! I agree with Tbugs that you should work with both an MLS Realtor and TV sales agent. We used Nannette Toleson with TV and Linda Sears with Morris Realty. I can highly recommend both.

We used Jane Cree. She is deliteful, knowlegable and super nice. We have remain friends with her and her husband long after we bought a preowned in Tall Trees. You can't go wrong with Jane. 1-800-346-4556 at the main sales office.

We bought our pre-owned house through Debbie Gentry of Tom Grizzard Realtors (ERA). Debbie lives in TV and has years of experience. She really helped us through the negotiations and we came through with a wonderful home and some negotiated "allowances" which helped us with some remodeling.

We can't say enough about all she did for us!

My husband and I have been Village residents for 5 years. We live in Liberty Park in a ranch. We are finding the exterior upkeep too expensive and time consuming.
