Allen's Sod Service
 

Has anyone used Allen's Sod Service. We are considering using them to resod our lawn. Would appreciate any input before we sign the contract. Thanks

Did a great job! They put sod down last October 2010 for us and were referred to us by neighbors. Were reasonably priced (less than anyone else); treated the area with friendly chemicals a few days before the sod arrived; and then brought in a huge water-filled roller to compact the sod plantings.

The owner said the mistake that many homeowners and some of his competitors make ---- is not to kill the weeds (fungus) before sodding. It involves a second trip which costs the installers more time and money for the extra trip.

Six months later, our lawn (where they resodded) is one of the best on the street.

Go for it. These guys do a great job. The process takes a little longer but is well worth it. First they kill off all the old turf and weeds. Then they remove the old dead sod. Finally they put down the new sod. We had our front lawn done in July 2010. Our lawn looks great. Yea,:MOJE_whot: Allen Sod.
