King or queen-size bed?

We're in the process of furnishing our home for rent and wondered if renters generally prefer a queen or king-size bed in the master bedroom? How about twins in one of the 3 bedrooms?

Kings.

Definitely would go with king-size.

I'm voting for a king, also. Twins in one of the bedrooms is a good idea.

:welcome:If you happened to rent to Prince Harry and his Princess, you'd want to provide them with a bed fit for a King rather than for a Queen. If they are fueding at the time then he can banish her to one of the twin beds in the guest room! :clap2:

King for the master and Queen for the second bedroom seems to be the most popular. The third bedroom usually turned into a den/office with a futon or sleeper sofa in it. Few renters seem to react positively to twin beds.

a queen would suite me. but king is also nice! two twin beds in one of the rooms would be good too. that is a good idea.

Definitely a king for the master bedroom! Definitely twin beds for the guest bedroom. Sometimes there are unrelated guests staying, like two single women. If the guests want to be romantic, they can push the beds together.

One more vote for King for the Master - that's one of the first things I look for. Remember, most people want a rental to be as good if not better than what they have at home. The twin beds for one of the other bedrooms is a very good idea - I know I've had some out-of-town visitors who would prefer twins. Good luck on the whole rental process.

When I rented in TV before I bought (4 times), I filtered the list for king in the master bedroom. If I did it I'll bet many others do the same.

Yes, king definitely. Some visitors are, um...shall we say, portly?

Bill-n-Brillo 07-21-2011 07:06 AM

King. Most renters will not complain about having too much room, just too little. Or as Russ stated, they'll pass on your place altogether.

Bill :)

Go with all King sized beds for sure. While looking for a one month rental, there were many lovely homes we didn't take since we are accustomed to a King at home and in our 2 guest bedrooms here.

We finally found a pool home with a King and a Queen which will be fine for our adult son and his wife who will just be visiting over Thanksgiving. The third bedroom is a den.

Even when traveling we ask for a King or two doubles in a hotel.

King in the master. When I rented here, I only considered places w/king beds. I think Queen in the spare br.

I have two rentals and have had people tell me they only considered our homes because I had king beds in the master and a queen in the guest bedroom. I would only set up a rental with this configuration. King in the master, Queen in the guest and sofa bed in the third bedroom. Reasons are you want the primary renter to be very comfortable so they will return, you want any guests they have to consider renting renting your home, but not so comfortable they stay long term and the sofa bed so it is used primarily as a den and not a bedroom. Having multiple people long term is not your objective. I allow guests for up to a week, but if two couples want to rent for the month I charge extra. My rates are based on one couple with occasional guests. Works well for most people.
