Google Maps updated south of 466

For those that have not checked in a while, the area of The Villages south of 466 has been updated and you can probably find a high definition aerial photo of you home now if you look for it.

I live in Bonita and my home now finally exists as confirmed by Google. When you put in your address they may ask you "do you mean Wildwood?", and you have to grudgingly say "yes" to see your home.

In my area a couple of streets are misnamed, so watch for that.

Noticed that a couple of weeks ago - also they do not have the house numbers real accurate. The satellite shot is fairly recent though as a neighbor had a bird cage attached 2-3 months ago and it is in the photo. Maybe just my imagination, but it appears to be higher resolution than I've seen previously. I could almost inventory the shrubs in my landscaping.

Hey, no need to get all grumpy about it. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a2...06/TapFoot.gif Just finish typing The Villages and voila... no sweat. Besides it will avoid future need for meds to sooth the ulcers! Someday you'll thank me for that advise!

Seriously, I believe that it goes back before development of The Villages areas in Sumter Co. were designated as falling under the USPS Wildwood jurisdiction. If you check out an address just west of Spanish Springs you'll find the same thing happening except it would be Lady Lake!

Anyway, when it happens with my Hadley address, I just relax and dream that I'm in Wildwood NJ enjoying the ocean!

Thanks for the heads-up Richielion regarding the Google updates. They do in fact look a lot clearer. Perhaps they used the same camera to spot that 6'4" man walking around his courtyard villa in Pakistan.

I noticed they had our street wrong when my son was using his iPhone for directions. We are off Homeland Park - and we were listed as being Sutton Terrace which is actually on the "other" side of canal. I sent them a "fix this" note and they confirmed to me that they were in error. They have fixed the street name, but they still have the wrong zip...the one for Wildwood.

The area just south of Lake Miona Golf Course have Wildwood addresses and from there south it is Wildwood.
