Recylcing vs Garbage for moving material
I'm in - mostly unpacked, exhausted, excited and ready for that tall cold drink (or two)! One question I hope you can help me with - I have a garage full of cardboard boxes, most of which are filled with packing paper. I was told recycling has to go in clear plastic bags, but I certainly don't want to break down the boxes and put all the paper in bags. Can I put the boxes out for recycling as is or should I put them out as garbage?

I would put them out flatenned on the day that garbage and recycling are both collected. I have done that and they have been picked up but don't know whether it was picked up as garbage or recycling.

Yes all you have to do is put flattened cardboard out on your recycling day and they will pick up. We put the paper in the recycling bags too. Congratulations on moving to Tv.

I put cardboard out for recycling all the time, either flattened or non-flattened filled with old newspapers. I also put the newspapers in typical plastic grocery bags and they take them in the recycling truck.

Garbage or Recyling??
I just wonder why we have to separate it when I saw the garbage truck throw it all into the truck ad squash it together!!

We have 2 trucks that pick up at our place. One for the trash and one for the recyling materials!

You can offer them to other people on this site who are looking to move and would gladly take your boxes. All you have to do is post that you have free boxes and packing material for anyone interested. Ask them to PM you with their phone#. Then call them and arrange for them to pick them up.
