Brownswood update?

Does anybody have any news about the new town square at Brownswood? We have a lot in St. James and are hoping to start building early next year. Will the new square be open then?

No real building, but some stakes and a few piles of dirt have appeared in the last couple of weeks.

The name is Brownwood and is referred to in the developer's marketing material as Brownwood Paddock Square.

Construction

No real progress - a long way from reality.

Ther are now supplies of the pipes for sewer, irrigation, and fresh water, sitting on adjacent property. That should be the signal for the beginning of the rough in process.

What are they waiting for?

More population in that area, right now there are zero (Villages) homes nearby.

:confused:Where exactly will Brownwood be built? I have heard through the grapevine that it's pretty close to Wildwood, is that correct?

JimPete 06-11-2011 09:56 AM

My understanding that it is south of 466A at the end of Buena Vista.

I thought the idea of the villages was to put in the amenities first to attract people to build houses in that area. Has that strategy changed?

I don't think it has changed, just fine tuned the timing.

Yes,the name is Brownwood, but, only the entertainment area in the center of Brownwood is called Paddock Square. Just like in Lake Sumter Landing, the entertainment area is called Market Square.

JJ, we were talking with our realtor one day while down looking at housing and she mentioned that the Brownwood area buildout would be somewhat different from the last town square. When the last town square was built, I understood they built out the town square (Lake Sumter Landing) and then built residential out from there. She stated that in building out the last part of TV, the developer decided to build out the residential first and build toward the square (Brownwood). Thus, Sanibel is first village south of 466A and the greatest distance from Brownwood. Now, one can debate the issues as to why they chose to do the final buildout that way. Only time will tell if the strategy was appropriate for the times.

Given that Sanibel will be the farthest village from Brownwood, and will probably be equidistant from Lake Sumter, it makes sense in that people will be still be able to get to a town square just as easy, while the residential portion continues to grow.

We just can't wait to get there! Hope to see you all soon!
