Kathyzapp we go south on 301, then south on the Fla turnpike to West on I-4 and follow the signs. Takes around an hour. Great day trip, enjoy!

can also go straight down hgwy 27 toll-free and exit onto rt 192 - then follow signs to the part of disney you intend to visit. have a great time!

I go down the turnike to the 429 toll road. Take the 429 toll road south to exit 8 this will bring you in the back way to Disney and mush less traffic going this way and I think it is shorter and quicker than going to I-4. The 429 is fairly new and may not be on older maps. Exit 8 is right beside Disney only a couple of 100 yards to Disney property from this exit.

I prefer NJBchBum's route of taking Rt. 27 S. to 192. You'll see plenty of signs as you're driving down 27 telling you the jughandle to 192 towards Disney is ahead.

I prefer to stay off 4 whenever possible, and why pay 10 bucks to the Turnpike; you going to be spending enough money at Disney and it doesn't get you there much faster.

Thats how my built in gps in my Prius wants to take me. I really didn't like to go that way seeing as how route 27 has a lot of lights and traffic. I think the turnpike to 4 is probably the better way to go but I don't want to disobey my gps

Master GPS

1) You can always (as I'm sure you know) ignore the GPS and it will simply recalculate.

2) You need to select "faster"rather than "shortest" option.

I've gone multiple ways. Indy-Guys directions are the fastest and easiest but also $.

Chopper 06-20-2011 05:00 PM

Indy-Guy, I totally agree with your route. We go that way all of the time.

ANOTHER vote for Indy-Guy' way using The "FL Turnpike" to the "429 toll rd" and use Exit 8 which is the 192 (Irlo Bronson)exit. Fast , easy and NO STRESS....AND... about 20 minutes quicker than going the I-4 way.

I know I can ignore the GPS. I was just trying to make a joke. I always select fastest route except when I'm driving in the Villages because faster in TV routes you into some strange routes.

no to I-4

dont use I-4 ever....

Go 429 it's faster and exit 8 I think is Western Way.That is the west side of disney, end up by Coronado Springs resort. 192 is the next exit.

Ditto. Best way to WDW. The only light you even encounter will be on 301. Less than 1 hour from southern TV.

Yes, 429 is also toll like the turnpike (I don't mind the extra $ since I wouldn't do it everyday).

Pturner 07-24-2011 06:13 PM

If you use on online map such as Google maps, you can play around with different routes. As you move the line on the map representing the route, it recalculates the time, distance and driving directions.
