Full-time children restrictions?

I am looking to move to the area of Lady Lake when my new job starts in October. I understand that there are some areas directly associated with the Villages are 55+ communities. Is there a defined line that includes these areas so I can look elsewhere?

Is your job with The Villages?
Most real estate listings will indicate if they are in TV.
Why not Google brokers in Lady Lake and let them provide you with options outside TV.

I am not aware of any areas "directly associated with the Villages". There are other 55+ communities in the tri-county area. If you are referring to a "defined line" on a map, I know of no such thing.

There are also many communities that have no age restrictions. If you know the name of a community you can google it and if it has a web site you can probably get your answer.

Lady Lake is in the northwest corner of Lake county. It abuts both Sumter and Marion counties.

If this does not adequately answer your question please post again.

I believe Spring Arbor and Bison Valley are both associated with TV. I was told these areas are for employees of TV or other businesses in TV that have children or are too young to live in TV

Parkwood and Harbor Hills are close by. Harbor Hills is probably closer to Lady Lake. I hear better things about it than Parkwood.

Not sure if the following is true but I 've been told that the age requirments only applies to owners. Renters in any village are allowed to legally have children at any age live with them.. True or False????

False. Your deed restrictions say children under 19 for no more than 30 days per year. Period. Doesn't matter who they belong to.

Over 19, renters or owners' family members can be any age.

Hi BonifayDave,
Welcome to TOTV! The only communities outside TV that are associated with TV are family-friendly, not 55+ communities. They were built to accommodate the families of employees of TV. These include Bison Valley, Oak Meadows and Spring Arbor. Residents in these communities do not pay a TV amenities fee and do not have access to TV amenities.

Please be advised that Parkwood is NOT associated with TV.

While there are other 55+ communities in the area, none are associated with The Villages. Each of these 55+ communities, including TV, have clearly defined boundaries.

If you are working with a Realtor, you can let him/her know your preferences and he/she can advise you of any restrictions, community fees if any, etc.

Best wishes in your new job and new home, where ever you end up.

55+ communities get a tax break on school support, since none are needed when there are no children. if that's the tax structure and the rule, it's just how it is. a florida thing, I guess. there are plenty of communities where children are welcome.

Actually, it's a federal thing... not limited to Florida. The Fair Housing Act established 55+ communities across the nation. Before that, there were issues about age discrimination. The Act states that no one under age 19 may reside in a 55+ community for more that 30 days and that 80% of the residents must be 55 or older.
