Landscape washout help
I have a courtyard villa ( Bonita), and to prevent the wood chips on the side of the house from washing out, I put edging along the length of the concrete walk that runs down the side of the house. This works well but it creates a trough for the water to flow down into the back yard. At the end of the walk I put lava stone to dissipate and slow down the water coming of the walk. However, I was gone most of the spring and when I returned, I found that the lava stone and everything in the path of the water had washed away.
My question is, Does anyone have an idea for slowing down or dissipating the water flowing of the end of the walk. Maybe some type of heavy stone but it also has to look appealing. Thanks, Bill |
Ya I was a having a similar problem and i talked to my landscaper and he came up with a drain system at the end of my sidewalk that takes the water underground and gets ride of it using catch basins and pipe and some rocks. let me know if you want his name.

I had the same problem with the mulch along the house. My landscaper changed the mulch to stone along the house and then made a stream bed to the far corner drain and that solved the problem. Its looks very nice.
