Bridgeport owners

Hi
I have two questions:

Is it possible to expand the entire house by 2 ft across in the back? ie dining room, lania and master bedroom.

I've seen resales that show that the big window has been removed and been sheetrock over. We have a big bedroom set with a 7 ft dresser. Cant figure how to arrange the furniture. I also am considering to remove the double doors and make it one door to extend the wall that shares the lania by a couple of feet.

Cheaper to buy a new bedroom set. And you will pay taxes on that expanded foot print for ever.

So you want my wife to find a new husband to retire with?
It's the only furniture we have since we were married...

Ya Gotta Believe! Who's famous father said that? ( The same year we were married)

I built a Bridgeport last year. We did extend the garage and front bedroom two feet. That's all we were allowed to do with the builder. My master bedroom has the bay windows, and I have two dressers, king bed one night stand and oner corner china cabinet ( no other place for it in house). I also have a chair a table over near the windows. We also extended the lania by four feet during build time. That's all they would allow on that. We have since put a birdcage on the lania. PM me if I can help you with other things in the Bridgeport.

We built in 05 and extended the house throgh the dinning rm lani and master 4 feet makes for a very big master dinnin and lani also ext garage 2 ft with a 8ft door instead of a 7ft Also put a pool in last year. Redigned the roof line and put in 3 boston hips balances the front of the house better. We are in Virginia trace why not buy ours its all done

I built a Bridgeport last year and did the stretch on the back. I have a kingsize bedroom set w/ 7 ft dresser (placed on the wall by the doors), the bed w/ 2 large nightstands, a large armoire on the small wall by the hallway to closets and bath, and a loveseat in the bay window area. and there is still plenty of room.

We did the same. I would like the dining room to be larger - but, as Mick Jagger said.... "you can't always..."

When I built we were allowed the 2 ft stretch on the back side, plus if you wanted the 4 ft stretch to the lanai (which I didn't do since I put a bigger birdcage all the way across the back)

We are building an expanded Bridgeport in St. James. We are expanding the back of the house 4-8-4 and the front of the house by 2 feet. I too was concerned about furniture in the master bedroom but with the expansion we should be fine. We are taking out the 1/2 bath and having the guest bedroom layout like the Holly model. We are thinking of adding a spa and birdcage. We have a larger lot that backs up to the golf course so we had the room. We have also added a golf cart garage. We will start building the beginning of next month.
