Shell Gas Station 466A
Just got back from another useless trip for gas. Once again they are out of gas and have only diesel. This all took place at 3:00 today.:grumpy:

If I'm down by Colony for another reason and happen to be low on gas I'll swing by and see if they're open. Usually when I'm running low I find a reason to go up to the Southern Trace area and fill up. I wasted a couple of trips to Colony in the past only to find they were out.

So... My excitement about living close to a gas station, may have been pre-mature.... :cryin2:

Somebody.........someday..........will turn this into a properly run gas station. We can only hope!!! :D
Angie, I wouldn't sweat it. I'd have to think that with all the residential development beginning south of 466A, at least one other gas station will pop up along there somewhere - perhaps in the proposed commercial area west of Buena Vista. We'll have to wait and see. Bill :) |
Yeah... but I was bragging..... :sigh:

Today
Drove past @ 11:30 and they did have gas!!!!!!!!! Wow....Sorry for the delay in posting because after 2 hours and 26 minutes things might have changed:censored:

Anyone have an idea why they are running out? Is there a shortage? Bad management?
Too much demand from that area? |
Various other posts on TOTV will undoubtedly reveal that this particular station has had many, many problems since its first opening. Such as, multiple owners/franchisees; obviously poor on-site management; dozens of reported incidents where gas wasn't available!
I almost always fill my car (my golf cart is electric) at one of the Shell stations at Southern Trace. They are always busy; sometimes I even have to wait for a pump. But, a couple of weeks ago, I was headed to Tavares in the evening, when I realized that I should fill up, or run a distinct risk of runing out of gas! So, I stopped at the Shell in Colony Plaza. There were absolutely no other customers, either at the pumps or in the store. I wasn't surprised, frankly, but it is certainly worth noting by those living closer to CR466A than I. Once the villages of Sanibel and Charlotte are filled with residents, I know that the situation will improve! :highfive: SWR :beer3: |

We went to colony tuesday & wednesday for gas and they had none either day. Made to trip to southern trace. Out solution is where evere we are near the colony just get what ever gas you need so we don't have to make a special trip or should i say special trips.
