Is anyone familiar with Dr. Marivic Villa and/or Villa Medical?

My husband is a new patient of "Dr. Jay" in the Villa group. He is board certified and seems good, but not much experience with him yet.

I did hear Dr Villa speak at one of their get acquainted lectures.

Here is a link. You can see what others say about the practice.

My personal experiences were not positive with Dr. Jay and the Villa Group. In 2010, I went to Dr. Jay for my annual physical. He ordered blood work and reviewed the results with me, listened to my heart, chest and back and sent me on my way... we had high-deductible health insurance and the cost was $300 for the office visit alone. I challenged it and was told that is the accepted charge for a first time patient. Even though this was a less than stellar first impression, I needed an MRI with contrast and went to the Villa group in 2011. The technician missed the vein and the dye went into my arm. I didn't know it until about an hour after the visit. I returned to the Villa group and a doctor (other than Dr. Jay) examined me and indicated it should be okay; the technician indicated I had to do the MRI again... I didn't allow him to touch me again and asked that the results of the MRI without contrast should be reviewed before I was going to do it again. My husband also went to Dr. Jay this past June for his annual. The doctor spent less than 5 minutes with him and sent him on his way... no PSA blood work done and no examination of the prostate. Good luck. I hope your experience is better than ours.
