Did you bring a favorite?

I will be returning North to gather the rest of our belongings and I was wondering... have any of you brought along favorite garden plants?

I know, I know.... there's plenty to sort out without dragging plants. But I have some outstanding Lily and Bearded Iris that I love.
I can't seem to find much online about growing them in central florida. My info says Iris Germanica works here, but I don't know if all bearded iris are classified that way. Maybe the lack of info should give me a hint.

I am bringing Clivia, but have grown that as a houseplant up north, so will probably try it that way in Florida, as we don't have much shade around our CYV. It will be a pain to move two large pots of them, but I'll try it.

These varieties were all fairly pricey when I bought them and are now doing so well that I doubt if I would want to start from scratch again.
Anybody have an opinion to offer?
Thanks

I had a couple of beautiful orchid plants given to me by friends before I left Los Angeles. I could not leave them, I would have died first. Soooooo, along with 3 dogs and a few odds and ends, I drove them 3000 miles cross country. (Some of you will remember my saga of my trip, it was a great learning experience and I loved all of the support I got from fellow TOTV'ers.) Anyway, it was August and believe it or not we traveled through many different weather conditions, from extremely hot to very cold nights but every single night, I dragged those 5 plants into the motel rooms along with the dogs, the food, beds, leashes, etc... But the ending of this long story is.... they are thriving and looking beautiful. I have had many many orchid flowers on them and this is a perfect climate to grow them on my lanai. So, if its not tooo much trouble for you, I would vote that you take them along. You won't be sorry. Let us know what you do and how the plants are doing.... thanks.

I brought a ficus. It looks exactly like it did at home with not a single leaf having dropped. I can guaranty you it will look exactly the same next year and the year after unless I get tired of it and throw it away. Sadly, I have no luck with living plants. This silk ficus does the trick for me.

I will bring down my treasured moonflower seeds that I will harvest in October to plant in the spring along my villa wall. A friend gave me seeds from her plants ten years ago. They only bloom in the early evening after the sun goes down. When the sun comes up the next say the flowers close up. The aroma from the flower is intoxicating...wish I could bottle it.

I assume this will qualify. We left SoCal with my SUV full of household goods and clothes, while pulling a UHaul filled with about 25 plumeria plants. Every two hours we stopped to let the dog run around, stretch our legs, and for me to open the trailer and let the plants breathe. By the time we got to TV, the air inside the trailer was intoxicating because most of the plants were in bloom.

The first winter I thought I had lost most of the plants as they died all the way to the ground. But when I went to dig them up, the roots were alive, and the plants survived. Still have them. In fact, we extended our lanai 10X30 so that I have room for them to grow in pots during the summer and can bring them under cover during cold nights in the winter.

One of these days I'll have enough blooms to make some lei's.

I love plants and brought many down in the moving van when we came 2 yrs ago. If you love them, bring at least a start along. Just knowing what ones can take the blistering heat and planting the others where shade will be available part of the day will be beneficial.

Thank You Guys! Orchids, Plumeria and Moonflower.... Yum!
I do think I will lift a few from the garden and bring them along. We'll see if lillies and iris love the new place as much as I do!
