new vs new battery confrig
our club cart is losing power - it has an ac controller and goes up to 27 mph -6 8volt batteries are about 2 years old - there is a noticible reduction in range and power in the tunnels

Loosing Power
Sounds like a battery problem. The batteries must be drawn down electronically to the lowest level and than at that point an additional load is to be applied and each battery checked with a load tester for a comparison test. This test seeks out the weak battery.

OK Frank, want your opinion. What would be the two battery makers you would recommend to install in your golf cart. Also a mechanic at work went to club car school and said that club car is not going to be using trojan batteries because of quality. I thought trojan was a good brand.

Batteries
The main reason Club Car and Trojan parted ways is because of the private label of the black club car name put on the T1275 Trojan battery. This 4 battery system that club car designed for the Precedent was a terrible design for a golf cart especially for places like The Villages. With (278) pounds of plates in a golf cart the battery system would just barely, when new get 35 miles on a full charge. Club car has gone back to (6) - 8 volt batteries design (360) pounds of plates. Trojan warranted many of the black 1275 batteries until they realized the cart design was the problem not the battery. I still believe the Trojan is a very good battery and the company stands behind there products.
