TOTV, Apple iPad, and Pandora

I just love listening to beautiful piano music while scrolling thru TOTV.

Here's the method on an Apple iPad:

1) Download the ap 'Pandora' to your iPad
2) Search and save this artist, 'Jim Brickman Radio'
3) Press the play button (on Brickman)
4) Press the 'close' button (the music will continue playing)
5) Open up TOTV
6) Read away, while listening to Brickman
7) When you're done with TOTV, close it out
8) Click on your Pandora icon on the iPad main screen
9) Press the stop button on Brickman
10) Go to bed and zzzz.

Go ahead, Gracie, and try it out on your iPad. Anybody else, too.

We're one week closer to Paradise!

We think alike! I switch between Brickman and Easy Listening. Actually, Easy Listening was my first selection. Kathy found Brickman, and I followed her. Both are great choices!

Yes, we do think alike. And how long before this beautiful piano music puts me to sleep....while my mind is racing thinking of all that's going on...with the closing of my home in St James...on 8/31!

Beautiful, beautiful music....G'nite!

10-4 over and out...

I have an iPad and I often listen to different relaxing apps to put me to sleep. I usually wake up during the night and my battery is low because the App is still active.

I've never heard of a sleeper timer. What is that, where and how would I find it for an App. Is it an iPad setting, or something within each App? Oh, the mysteries of an iPad.

I have a sleeper timer on one of my iPad apps. Great for bedtime use. But I don't know of one with Pandora. I was hoping maybe I missed it, and somebody could correct my ways. That has been done before <g>.

No......I can't find a sleep timer on the iPad.....but what a great idea.

You can also put Pandora on the iPhone.

I have XM-Sirius on both....but with the Pandora app, I don't need XM-Sirius anymore. It really is a great FREE app.

Bare is right....there are nice apps for relaxation and sleep..."Relax & Sleep, Sleepmaker, Nature Sound...and Relax Melodies (has sleep timer & alarm)...and they are all FREE.

I sure would love it if someone would like it if there was a GPS app with TV golf cart path directions. I would actually be glad to PAY for that one!!!

You will eventually find your way around. It took me more than a year to feel really comfortable. Things in lots of areas look beautifully the same and it is confusing for awhile.

If you get lost Swim, you can call us and also you will find that people are so helpful if you are out in a golfcart reading a map.

Oboy...I have just hijacked this thread and the admin is going to be putting bad marks in my book.

Music Sleep Timer

Ok.... here's a sleep timer that will shutdown your iPad or iPhone music.

This app is FREE [in the app store] and it's an iPhone app, so it will look small on the iPad. It does work, however.

I've tested it with Pandora, Tunein Radio and the iPod function. All work perfectly. Only caveat...the timer must be in the foreground to function. So, as you go to bed, start your music player [whatever that is] and put that in the background. Start Music Sleep Timer, set the timer and forget it. If you want to turn off the screen, just push the power button and the screen will go black, but the timer will still work.

Hope this works for you all.....

Later.... Mike

Great! I did that...merged the two......had it set for one minute...and voila! It worked.......great!!! Thank you.

Another cool music app is BingMusic. It's the Top 100 songs by year...from 1947 to present. You choose the year......and hear the top 100 songs of that year. Another app.....that is FREE. Hurrah!!!

Glgene - Always learning new ideas. I am posting this note as I am listening to music coming out of I-pad as you suggested. This is really great and thank you for directing us to this free apps. I had Pandora TV but not radio. Perhaps we should have a new thread for most popular apps for seniors like TOTVs Top 10 Apps. Thanks again.:BigApplause:

Here's a link to a TOTV thread that has lots of apps that TOTV folks are using and recommending. Add to the thread for apps you find. There are lots of great apps listed there....

Mike, you make it sound so simple. For you it probably is. For me, not so much! Duh. :Screen_of_Death: I'm sorry to be so be a pest, but I just have a couple of questions. I'm asking the questions here instead of PMing you because I thought others might be computer-challenged, like moi.

The free app is called Music Sleep Timer? I'm using a Self Hypnosis App that I downloaded from the App Store. So I would start the Hypnosis App playing first? Then how would I "put that in the background" and start Music Sleep Timer?
