Any recommendations for barbers?

Buffalo's barber shop in the shopping center at 101 and 466. Dennis Thompson or Gene Glass.

I've used Cal's in Lake Sumter Landing since I came in 2005. I've never settled on a specific person, but currently like Bill's work.

I've always been a walk-in. Never waited more than 15 minutes; often have no wait at all.

Suppose that I ought to admit to not being picky! When I'm close to having to tie a pony tail, then I go!

First, let me welcome you to TOTV. It is a good site for info and many nice people post here.

I go to Cal's at Sumter Landing, but as my hair line recedes, I'm thinking of going to a less expensive place.

Finding a good men's barber in TV, or anywhere, is a real crap shoot.

Lately, I have been going to Sue in Belleview Regional Shopping Plaza, 352-547-7041. She does straight razor back of the neck hair removal and sideburn trim like the old time barbers.

I'm still lookin for a men's shoe shop with the xray machine to see how your feet fit in the new shoes.

Chuck, I recently saw one of those old shoe fitting x-ray machines on that History Channel restoration show. I had never seen one before. I wonder how many people would have put their feet in that contraption if they knew then what they know today about radiation? The restoration guys replaced the x-ray source with a light bulb if I remember correctly.

Both my wife and I liked Cal's in Colony Plaza! They had several barbers there, both male and female.

I also use Cals in Colony Plaza! Also I'm not picky...#1 buzz on sides & back...#2 buzz on top..Hard to screw up that cut....

I use Al in Cal’s Barber Shop on Legrande Blvd. in the historic section across from the Post Office.

He’ll do whitewalls around the ears with a straight edge if you want it.

chuckinca 08-25-2011 11:10 AM

He sounds like my kind of barber!

I'll have to check him out when we get back in Oct.

I go to Cal's at Colony Plaza and see Sharon.
