looking for internal medicine physician
 

I have seen several physicians and have been disappointed on lack of professionalism.
Have any of you found a physician you feel is compentent and happy with? Please share that info.

My husband and I both use Dr. Frederic Davis at Laurel Manor. He's part of a group with several specialties which is good when you need to be referred. We like him and find him very professional.

We like Dr. Michael Glick. Very thorough and no nonsense, but he has a great sense of humor

I went there and was assigned Dr Rojas, he was very unprofessional to staff and me on 2 visits. Maybe he was under stress? I have been reluctant to go back,, I guess I could request only Dr Glick. Thanks so much for your input. Dr Glick has been very good for my husband and referred him to Dr Hill for a neck disc problem he had surgery and has done great ! I reccommend him too.

Internal Medicine Doc
 

We like Dr. Angel Tafur off Buenas Aires (excuse the spelling). Office staff, well, nice most of the time but........the doctor is very capable and on the staff at The Villages Hospital. Also we like Dr. "Del"......he's located by the Sharon Morse Building at 1400 US HWY 441, N STE 924. Hope this helps.

I always do alot of research before making an appointment.

Research is always good. I'm trying to find an internist who was educated in the USA. Why are they so hard to find? Don't they really want to practice in the Villages? Why is it a drawing card for only foreigners? The University of Miami graduates many excellent doctors, but they don't stay on in Florida. What's wrong?

I noticed that too when looking up where Dr.s are educated.

The foreign educated doctors is common all over Florida. Many have done residencies in the United States. There are some excellent foreign doctors in this area, it's pretty much a trial and error process to find someone you are comfortable with. I think Board certification is a very important credential to have, I also look for that.

I recently switched to Dr Glick after a major screw up at one of the Physician Groups. He saw me the same day I called, spent over 1 hour with me discussing my history and condition. I had already scheduled a cardiology appt for a couple of days later, which he knew about. After hours on the day of the cardio appt he called to see how it went and inquire about the doctor's opinion. I have NEVER had an MD follow-up with me like that. I'm favorably impressed for starters...we'll see where it goes.

Doctor's education can be $200k to $500k in the US. A lot of Florida resident are on Medicare only. Medicare does not pay enough to pay their basic expenses. Throw in the Medicad patient and it is worse. Then many of the patients are "part time". With student loans being $$$ they go where the "money is".

I highly recommend Dr Romulo Camogliano. He's located near the Villages Hospital. Recommended him to others who are very happy with him and his staff. He's from Peru and does have an accent but you'll have no trouble understanding him. He is not one of those doctors that doesn't go to the hospital. He also has an assistant.

Guess you haven't tried calling him after hours.

I go to Felix Agabo. He does have an accent but does go to the Villages Hospital. So far so good.

Dr. Horner... She's with The Family Doctors of Belleview but her office is beside the Bealls and Lowes on North 441/27.

She's very professional and easy to talk to. She, and her retired husband, were both Air Force doctors for years.

The whole staff are friendly and professional!
