Phone number for post office?

We live in Hadley. Our post box key is not able to turn. I tried the Wildwood post office phone number in our phonebook but got a fax machine. Do you have the phone number I should call? Thank you.

Morning, our postal service lady is named Stacy and she's usually there from 10am for about a hour or so. Try going there in person and maybe she can help. Or leave your number on her door and she'll call you back.

A piece of mail might be jammed behind the lever mechanism. Why don't you go down to the mailstop when the carrier is there and see if she can check for a jam.

Before I moved down I had some questions regarding fowardinig and placing a mail hold. I was told to call the Lady Lake P.O. which I did and they were very helpful.

the people at the mailstops are vendors. if you need new keys or postal services you need to to to the post office.

I believe they meant go down to the mailboxes while the mail carrier is there, not to one of the commercial 'pack and ship' type places.

There are no "mail carriers" at the postal stations. These are contract personnel who work for a company other than USPS. They are not like a retail shop either and unless the problem is a jammed piece of paper in the box, as someone previously suggested, it's highly unlikely they can help you. Go ahead and give them a try if you wish. Perhaps they can at least tell you who to contact.

Thank you all for your advice. I was able to get in touch with someone within hours thanks to this site. HINT: She told me to try WD40 before we goto the expense of having a new lock.....YAHOO, it worked. So all is well....thank you again.

zcaveman 09-07-2011 07:58 AM

I WD-40 my lock and the locks around me once a year. They get a terrible beating from the rain.

As a current letter carrier with the USPS I highly recommend using silicone spray rather than WD-40. WD -40 will gum up after awhile were as silicone spray does not. Dry silicone spray powder is even better to use.
