Things Learned on TOTV

One month from now we will have arrived back in VA from our Florida vacation and quick stop in TV. Hopefully with that "lovin feelin" for TV, a hankerin for a longer stay there and more knowledge of how things work there.

Since joining TOTV last month I have learned plenty of new things. I list some below.
1. I won't be playing Championship Golf Courses.
2. Some areas don't have gas but you can bury a propane tank.
3. Probably won't be buying a street cart.
4. No political signs :a040:
5. Watch out for high bonds, probably start looking at pre-owned but may miss the fun of a new neighborhood coming together.
6. Older neighborhood may still be OK for making friends especially at the pool.
7. Don't grow orange trees or queen palms.
8. Love bugs are temporary.
9. Get surge protector and maybe lightning rods.
10. TV is not really gated community.
11. Republicans out number Democrats. :cus:
12. It's OK to put up Christmas lights.
13. Make sure that a home purchased has the flood elevation.
14. Lots of good places to eat in TV, close by or within 30 mins.
15. Love all dogs, snakes, alligators, wildlife of any type. (snakes is gonna be a tough one) :0000000000luvmyhors
16. Make sure garage floor is coated.
Can ya'll help a feller out and continue my list?

Excellent list - I will remain neutral on #11 as I'm trying to stay out of all thing political. May I add:
17. If you move to TV and you cannot find at least one activity, club or class to interest you, please check your pulse.

OK I have to admit that #11 was just a teaser, last thing I want to do is get into politics.
18. Do not get into politics on TOTV. :undecided:

Your #18 is spot on. Thank you.

#19. Deciding what model home to buy is easier that who to go with for phone / internet / tv.

#20. Gas vs. electric another tough decision but not as hard as #19.

#21. Bird feeders draw unwanted guests.

Posh 08 09-10-2011 03:40 PM

#19. Watch the water bill closely, strive for a "green landscape". (side note, sell riding mower, weed eaters before coming to TV)

Yorio 09-10-2011 04:28 PM

22. No Pink Flamingos or other ornaments on the front lawn.
23. Lots of good doctors' recommendations
24. New Free IPad apps. -Pandora Radio is tops.

Hi Posh,
Great list.

#19 Free live music and dancing on town squares 7 nights a week

#6 Revisited-- It's easy to make friends in older neighborhoods. Honestly.

#1 question-- I love the executive courses, but am curious why no championship golf? They're fun too.

Glad you had fun. Hurry back!

Well, that makes sense-- we all have to watch our wallets. But just so you'll know...

#20 --After 5 p.m. during the summer months, championship golf is a flat $6 for all the holes you can play.

Hi PT, RJ (hubby) says way to go on the info about championship courses in summer..he's a happy camper! Me too!

Posh 8 - all good info and there's probably LOTS more on the site. We have found it and the people invaluable!
Peg
PS Only 3 more weeks for us! :a040::a040::pepper2::pepper2::crap2::crap2::wave: (we're a little excited!)

Not sure what number we are up to so I will say

#21 People in TV are for the most part the friendliest people on earth! I guess there have to be a few grouchy people around just to keep us recognizing that this still is a location made up of humans..... but there seem to be very few grouchy types.

Suzanne
