Peak times for a lifestyle preview visit?

We will be coming down next month for a one day visit and will be back next April/May to stay a week for our 30th wedding anniversary.

When we chatted with the online rep, she said late April will be $150.00 a night. When does the fee reduce back to $100.00 or $125.00? Basically, what are the normal peak and off peak dates? We will adjust our timing if need be.

Thanks as always. :)

Over the 5 years we have been here, April has increasingly become a popular month. It almost seems to be part of snowbird season now and rental rates reflect it. You should ask your Rep what the lifestyle rates for May are. I would think they would be less than April.

So, short answer to your question, high season is Jan through April.

Hi CD,

If you want to be sure you have the correct info I would say you should call the rep back. They should be able to give you the exact dates.

Good luck.

She said she could not tell me, as they are not accepting reservations that far out yet.

Hi Carton Dude,
Unfortunately, on this issue, TOTVers probably can't give you the answer. From what your agent told you, it sounds like they haven't set the rate yet beyond April. That would not be surprising. They have changed the offering over the years to reflect market conditions and availability. Our first LSP was $75 a night and that was in April.

That said, there's probably a good chance that the rate will drop in May or June.

villages07 -- Thanks for posting this info. I'm already thinking about when I should rent in TV in 2012. Doesn't hurt to plan ahead.

When we had our LSV we booked for March but couldn't do it until December so I know they only take reservations 3 months out. We pid $150 and never heard that there were "off season" rates. It is what it is and probably the only opportunity, other than hotels, to get a short term rental...

IMO if TV suspects that you have no interest in buying they will hold you to a "one time Lifestyle Visit".......it happened to friends of mine who couldn't have stated any clearer that they were not interested in buying. They tried to get a second visit and were denied. Others, who spent time with a sales agent, were granted a repeat visit.......

19 days and counting

May the FROG be with us!

We had our LSV April 18-25 this year and the rate had dropped from $150 to $125 per night I believe on the 15th. I think it dropped again later to $100 as the weather got warmer both locally and up north, maybe June.

Holy cow! I guess they like to keep their options open in order to bring in as much revenue as possible. Ca-ching.
