Anyone know what's burning?

Just returned from the Postal Station in Caroline and the air is hazy from smoke....something's burning. Thought I was back in CA for a minute. Not exactly pristine air today, that's for sure. Only exhale when outside... ;)

I'm listening to a Jacksonville radio station. They are saying that Jacksonville is very smoky due to fires in Georgia, so would assume the same here.

There's a fire in The Ocala National Forrest.

Probably just a bad cook in Caroline! Don't accept any dinner invites!

Here's a link to some info: http://www.cfnews13.com/article/news...in-Lake-County

There was a head-on crash and fire at Micro Racetrack and 466A this afternoon.

Thanks for the answers....and I'll have you know I didn't cook today so it wasn't me... ;)

Cripes, I thought I'd left this stuff....took me a while to trust air I couldn't "see."....http://www.inhabitat.com/wp-content/...-Pollution.jpg

Oh my goodness, how awful. I do hope those injured make a complete and rapid recovery.

I do think the smoke was more than what this event could produce. When I looked at the web cams, both Lake Sumter Landing and Spanish Springs were shrouded in smog. I'm sure it added to the already poorer air quality. Thanks for the info.

We flew out of Orlando this afternoon, smog, landed in Philadelphia smog. Maybe an east coast thing.

Air was nice a clear here in Raleigh, NC today.

We played golf this Tuesday morning at Lopez. Around noon, we noticed the smell of smoke and could tell the air was very smoggy looking. It did smell more like a forest fire.

They showed on the news they were burning a lot of underbrush in Apopka. It was a pretty good size fire.

Karl on WVLG is talking right now about that...so you might listen. Generally the early morning show is quite informative.....He stared it was from fires in Georgia

It's very hazy over Lake Sumter again this AM. We need a good rain.

Doodlegirl 09-14-2011 08:44 AM

That spot where the accident occurs is very dangerous!

I use 466A to 441 and I really two hand the steering wheel there. I am surprised the entire road hasn't been enlarged, many blind spots, and hilly, and narrow. I too hope those involved will be o.k. I use the Fruitland post
office for packages and sometimes I just dread the drive there. And I'm no wuss on the road if you know what I mean!
