Painting Kitchen Cabinets
 

I love my house but I have my least favorite kitchen cabinets - those pinky ones. I am thinking of having them painted. Has anyone done this? Who did you use? Are you satisfied? Any info appreciated.

Its actually very simple but time consuming. First sand down the top finish with 100 grit sand paper. Then paint on some primer and then paint them. Its that easy. That's what I do for a living.

I did just that to my kitchen cupboards when I lived up north. As Steven posted, simple but time consuming and I felt it was well worth it. I did not use a sand paper but used a product of liquid sand paper. The rubbing on process softened the finish as well as removed any buildup... and acted as a grabber for the primer. We were pleased with the results. good luck

My wife Mary couldnt live with the pink cabinets either. Chris & I painted them white with new stainless hardware. The process is remove all doors and hardware, sand completly. Then apply 1 coat of bonding primer allow to dry, then apply 2 coats of self leveling low odor trim paint. Make sure the paint is self leveling or you will have brush marks.
