New to "Talk of the Villages Forums".
 

Hi, everyone!

I'm new here but not new to the Villages. I moved to the Villages in 1999 but I knew about the Villages since the mid to late 1980s, having visited relatives.
I first lived on the historic side and now live in the Belvedere section.

I first heard of the Villages in 2008 and we bought in 2010, 11 months ago.

I like the Belvedere section. We rented there while our Villa was being built.

This is a very nice site with alot of informative people.

Many thanks to everybody for the warm welcome. It really surprised me.

Now the correction: When I said I knew about the Villages since the early 1990s I may have been a little off. :undecided: I believe the mid to late 1980s would be more like it. Anyway, I'm determined to get everything straighted out so I wrote a letter to my relative this morning and I asked a lot of questions. I could have called (to the other side of the Villages) but I didn't want any quick answers. I'm more interested in accuracy. When I get the answers, hopefully in a few days, I'll post again.

Hi to All: I have been coming to the villages since 2007. Just love the place. I have many friends from here that live in the villages and old Army buddies that I served with for many years live throughout central Florida. Was last there 7-15 Sep 2011. Had a great time. Renting a Courtyard Villa in the Village of Duval for Jan&Feb 2012. Looking forward to a longer stay. Take care. Charlie

Yes, indeed I am curious as to what TV was like back in the 80s. If I am correct the name The Villages came only in'92 and the whole concept matured toward the latter part of that decade. Which is to say that this Lower Paradise is a very new concept in the scheme of things. We are in a way in the midst of TV history in the making. It is exciting to be in this midst. I was for example surprised to find out that Sumter Landing was only completed in 2006.
