Obama plays the race card.....AGAIN!!!
In this article, which could have easily been addressed to his fellow AMERICANS he chooses to play the race game:
http://news.yahoo.com/obama-tells-bl...015928905.html What the blacks need to do is forget color and ask what has he done for them?? Or do you think he believes he has the non black constituency all locked up (:1rotfl::1rotfl:). How will he address these people if Cain were his only opponent? btk |

Uhm, excuse me, but the President
was addressing the Black Congressional Caucus. What did you expect him to
talk about? Daffodils. "Race Card...Again" No. You're statement is about as racist as they come IMHO. |

I was offended by the title and implication
It seems to me the agenda for Talk of the Villages political posts goes a little over the edge quite often, and this was a good example. Every President
who has addressed the Black Caucus has spoken to similar subjects...it is a bridge to cross and partly a reason for the gala in Washington. We should be thankful we have a Congressional Black Caucus...and an Hispanic Caucus. Without them many would be disenfranchised. Many still are. If John Kennedy was alive, or Franklin Roosevelt, what do you think they would be saying...or Ronald Reagan for that matter. Google Black Caucus addresses and you will see similar remarks. I feel that this was a grab for attention and a totally inapprpopriate post. However, that is my opinion. |
It was the race card that got him elected. Biggest mistake we have ever made as a country.
|
Just as I opined above...
way, way over the edge and unacceptable in polite and diverse conversation
among adults. |
I call what I see/hear. No matter the caucus...he is calling on the blacks...it most certainly telegraphs that he fully expects the black community to respond. And why would he put it out there that way if he was not expecting the blacks to go his way.
Over the edge...polite? I am not sure what is being measured by whom and for what. You are inferring it is OK for Obama, because he is addressing a black group, to call upon the blacks. That is your opinion and you are entitled. There is nothing over the edge about debating/discussing what was said and how. As some who continually remind us, the fact that he is black should not enter into a discussion as he is the POTUS. The only counter point I would make, is he should play the game the same way. He needs everybody to get their running shoes on to get re-elected not just the blacks. The headline and the story is racially based. So a non black wants to discuss the fact that a story and intent is racially based.....and as a result is labeled over the edge and a racist. Nice try...if that is what you heard/thought you heard/interpreted in what I said....it is not the way it was presented...believe what you like but please do not use your translation as my words/comments. By your translation I suppose if he was addressing a totally caucasian group it would be OK to headline line it as Obama asks the white people to ..yadda, yadda ,yadda. He is the POTUS, he is supposed to represent we the people all the time, not just who he is in front of... btk |
Me thinks
you do protest too much. If you were in a graduate class of mine and used the term, "the blacks" twice as you have in your retort discourse, you would have gotten an F on the paper. Let's end this and agree to disagree.
|
What we really need to end is the hyphenated American. Either you are all American or your are not. No one can serve two masters. If you want xxxxxxx-American, go to xxxxxxx and live. Maybe you will like it better there.

I am interested in learning how you viewed the episode in the last election wherein black panthers harassed white voters away from the polls. Eric Holder certainly didn't take much notice. Was that "over the edge"? Was Obama's rush to Professor Gates's rescue a strike against racism? It depends on whether you are the accused or the accuser. |

And what did Obama call that white cop? |

I don't wish to hurt anyone's feelings but this faux race issue is distracting us from meaningful discussions |
