Chris Christie?........maybe reconsidering according to NY Post

The NY Post has an article today that Gov. Christie might be reconsidering a White House run after being prodded by Republicans that he idolizes. Republican's like Henry Kissinger, Pres. George W. Bush and Nancy Reagan who encouraged him to run at the Reagan Library when he gave his speech on leadership on Tuesday.

Barbara Bush even called and spoke to Mrs. Christie to convince her the challenges in relation to her fears of family upheaval are indeed manageable.

Reports are he may give an answer as early as next week.

Oh the drama!; oh the anticipation!; oh brother.

Gov. Christie would be a good Candidate and would make debates very interesting. However, if he does not run, there is no other Rep. that will beat President Obama.

asbury park press reported yesterday that neither christie nor his reps had contacted larry bathgate for campaign $....yet.

Guest 09-29-2011 11:02 AM

with all of those folks applying pressure, seems to me that his campaign theme song should be...the heat is on!

First a NO, now it is Maybe, is a Yes coming soon? Not even a candidate and he is flip-flopping already.

I'm mocking this whole soap opera of ("will he, won't he; tune in tomorrow") of Chris Christie trying to decide if this is something he wants to do, but in all fairness, you've got to really want this to make yourself and your family (if we are to go by what the left did to Sarah Palin) the targets you will become before the lamestream media machine.

54% approval rating in NJ. I know a certain President who would love for people to like him this much...........anywhere.

I believe Chris christie does not want to run. I also believe certain and influential Republicans keep after him to reconsider.

Frankly, I like him and wish he would run but I think he is smart to wait. meantime he is a big draw and campaign monies are flowing in republican coffers because of him.

Wall Street Journal reported that his speech "Earned American Exceptionalism" was exceptional and an idea campaign theme should he decide to run against Obama.

Stephen Henniger of the Wall Street Journal is a columnist I have great respect for. He wrote favorable about Herman Cain and believes hewarrants a closer look. He made mention that Cain's policies such as 9 9 9 etc can't be expalined in a 30 second sound bite. he has looked deeply into all of his proposal and feels they are solid

Richie,

Are you referring to former president GW Bush with your comment about being liked? Obviously, it is not President Obama who has a fairly low approval rating of 39% right now. Compare that, however, to GW Bush whose final approval rating was 22%. Even your hero, Jimmy Carter, has a much higher approval rating than GW Bush.

Ratings don't mean a hill of beans. Also , the longer you are out of office the higher the favorability goes up. Carter's favorability was so low when he left office it was off the chart.

Warren Harding has been out of office for a long time as has U.S. Grant.

Both are considered to be the worst and close to the worst presidents ever. Their rating have not gone up.

Using your logic, Obama with 39 % and still in office puts him in very good shape for reelection.

Yes, when B Hussein Obama Leaves office in January of 2013, his ratings might start to go up a little because people will be so very happy.;)
