Conrad Murray Trial
I was expecting a lot of discussion about the on-going Conrad Murray Trial. I did a Search, but perhaps I missed the threads.
So far the evidence seems to point to negligence on the part of Conrad Murray, however I'm sure he didn't intentionally kill Michael. Poor Michael spent his life fighting his demons and trying to become a "better" person through plastic surgery. I think he looked way better pre surgery. He apparently weighed just 115 lbs when he died. On a more positive note, his kids seem to be doing very well. Poor Michael, what a sad ending for a super star. |
Helene is watching it Bare and reporting to us as she did a lot with the Casey Anthony trial. Then we were packing and now we are unpacking.
Conrad Murray looks so sad in the shots I see of him on the news. Here I think is a man who who was taken in by fame and used to help the ongoing chemical addictions of this famous person. I think Michael Jackson was a very unusual person with many good and kind traits and some problems that he was really in denial about. He must have been a good father. We may never know if he was a pedophile, but it is pretty obvious that he was terribly addicted to drugs. |
Not to be argumentative, but I couldn't care less. MJ, like many celebrities was overhyped in life, and now overhyped in death. I have known numerouos wonderful people, without demons, that have and will never have been known beyond their circle of family and friends but who led far more positive lives than many of these "celebrities".

Pedophile
Did the world forget that he was a pedophile? What am I missing?

paid people off
When you pay people off it smacks of I did it to me.

I have been listening on and off and the part I can not understand is why an MD had to ask if anyone knew CPR? Didn't he know how to do it?

You're missing the fact that he wasn't a pedophile! Perhaps he was a pedophile in your judgment, but he was found innocent. I'm not a Michael Jackson fan at all. I think he was a weird, conflicted drug addict who really made some inappropriate choices, and felt that abnormal behavior was OK. But I do think he was a gentle spirit, that he loved children and wouldn't abuse them, and that he raised three good kids. |

I doubt if we will ever know the truth. But then this is what are tabloids are for. |

------------------------------------------------- What does Helene think about the trial so far? |
I think the reason for the lack of interest in this trial is that it pales in comparison to the drama, cast of characters, and twists and turns that surrounded the Anthony trial. If the Anthony case was not real but was instead a fictionalized novel, it would undoubtedly be a national best seller.
Although it’s true that Jackson was never convicted, he did admit in a nationally telivised interview to having young boys sleep in his bed with him and openly stated that he didn’t see anything wrong with that. And the victim in the Anthony case was a beautiful innocent child, not an aging pop star with strange habits and an even stranger lifestyle. |
To this former RN, it was unbelievable that an MD who took the Hippocratic oath would totally abandon his ethics and administer a powerful medication used in general anesthesia (!) in an unmonitored setting with no plan for resuscitation!
But only unbelievable until I read that he was being paid >$100,000/month! Ethics didn't stand a chance! |
