I have had two friends who have had experience with her. The first was a patient who was frustrated that everytime he went in to have his teeth cleaned--every three months--there was a new hygienist. The second was a hygienist who worked for her. I found out that the working conditions were medicore and the pay poor. Well, that clears up the first friend's issue. What was more disturbing was that Dr. Ta had some sterilization policies that most hygienists will not put up with for long. The polisher that is used to polish your teeth at the end with that gritty toothpaste is normally disposable nowadays. She uses a metal one like in the old days. No problem there--they can be sterilized. The issue is the rubber cup you use to polish. That has always been meant to be disposable. She insists that the be sterilized in a cold sterile solution. This is done to save money. This is NOT Standard of Care anymore and should never be done under any circumstances. Anything that enters the mouth is supposed to be either disposable or be sterilized with heat--such as an autoclave or a chemiclave.
I told my first friend to find a new dentist after hearing about what goes on in the office from the second friend, who has long since moved on.
