Electric string Trimmers? Recommendations

I need help in identifying an electric string trimmer model (weed wacker) that works well. I just read user reports on all the Consumer Reports recommended models and a majority of the users of those recommended models gave them 1 star out of 5. I own a designer house with a smaller lawn and I would like to keep it myself. I can mow the remaining grass(backyard and 1/2 of front yard have no grass) in 10 minutes but I cannot get the neat look without a trimmer!! There seem to be a lot of horror stories about string trimmer usage both about usage of string, changing the string and starting. Has anyone purchased one in the last 6 months or year that they have been happy with.
Thanks in advance for the help

I have a Black and Decker and very happy with it for small jobs. It will do around the house and cottage just fine using 2 batteries. Changing line is easy with the spools from Wal-Mart. It won't do big jobs like ditches or fence lines with thick weeds.

Worxtools

Have you considered the Worx GT? I've got one and really like it. Battery operated and free spools for as long as you own it (you just pay S&H). It's not for everyone but it sure works for me.
