Little Italy

This is a great little Italian deli on Apopka Av. in Inverness, a block west of the Withlacoochee bike trail. My cycling group always stops there for lunch after our rides. They have wonderful homemade pastries and sell cold cuts, as well. On Fridays and Saturdays they have an elaborate dinner with entertainment that is a little risque (reservations necessary). Well worth the trip! :mmmm:

Thanks for the tip. Inverness is a pleasant drive on SR 44 to the west; we'll look out for the deli next trip that way.

What is the definition of entertainment that is "a little risque"? I'm curious.

They have a Facebook page and the food looks delicious. I also saw a YouTube video with bikers in the video.

They sing (Italian opera style, with some kidding around) and do jokes that are off color (i.e. with sexual references). I didn't find it offensive, but some people might. Lunch is pretty straightforward, sandwiches and various specials during the week, like Chilean Sea Bass or other fishes in parchment paper, etc., and other nice preparations.

For dinners on Fridays and Saturdays the meals are price fixed 3 or 7 course extravaganzas, with the fore-mentioned entertainment. I've done the 7 course meal twice, and it was fabulous each time. The last time, we had about 38 Villagers with us. My recollection is that the 7 course meal was $59 per person, and well worth it, in my opinion. Don't know how much the 3-course is.

FYI, they are at 124 North Apopka Av., Inverness. The telephone number is 352) 726-5044. :mmmm:
