Treasured Objects with Great Sentimental Value
This is a great story from CNN on some treasured objects that people keep and love.
http://www.cnn.com/2011/10/20/living...tml?hpt=hp_bn8 What about you? For me, I have a "Prohibition Pledge" card signed by my Grandfather (p.s., he didn't really mean it!), and a postcard signed by Jean Lussier, who went over Niagara Falls in a rubber ball, and lived to tell the story. I met him when he was in his 60's. |
Both treasures but in different ways..
I have a book signed by Francis Crick, co-discoverer of the structure of DNA. I was fortunate to have met him on a visit to La Jolla and was so in awe I could hardly speak. I had my grandmother's treadle sewing machine...on which I learned to sew, but gave it to the kids when we left Ohio. |
I have a small , about 22" tall, drop leaf table that my Dad made in High School shop class in 1937.

I have a small wreath crocheted by my grandmother that hangs on the Christmas tree every year. I also have a paper angel that sits atop the tree every year. She looks a little bedraggled, is losing her hair, and looks a little tipsy because her halo is crooked, but it was all we could afford for our first tree 40 years ago. She has topped every tree since then.
