Credit unions

Does anyone belong to a Credit Union in this area. If so, have you had a good or bad experience with the services they provide.

Any information will be helpful.

Thanks

I belong to the Navy Federal CU and have all my life. Membership is open to almost anyone with a military connection. Free checking with overdraft protection, credit card with good points program, IRA, savings accts, auto loans, mortgages. They are all over the world, the closest to TV is Altamont Springs. I have only been there once because I do everything online. The ATMs at Publix are free and the ones at the mailboxes are too. Google NFCU for more info. They are the largest CU in the world.

We belong to Insight Credit Union which is across 441/27 from Home Depot. In fact, since we refinanced, they hold our mortgage.

When we first moved here, over 3yrs ago, we joined Fairwinds Credit Union which is in the shopping plaza where Best Buy is located. Main reason for that was to get a home equity loan at a better rate than the local banks. Paid the loan off after two years but in that time we had no issues with Fairwinds.

And like others have already mentioned we do most of our banking with our credit union back in CT. Only issue we have is that they are not in the network that allows us free use of the ATM's at Publix so we also have an account at Citizens mostly to use the ATM's locally.

Credit Union

I have been with my credit union in IL for 35 years. I pay no fees for anything. ATM - free, on line bill pay - free. checking and savings - free
Charge card/debit card - free. My only concern moving to TV is where can I get cash without paying a service charge? Do I need to open an account down there so I can get to an ATM machine without a fee? It sounds like the local bank has ATM's located in a lot of places and also at the Publix. Are there ATM's at the postal areas also? When I come down in December I want to go to one of the ATM's and see if there is a charge for my card.

Oren, When I was in TV earlier in October, I used the ATM at the Publix on 466 to withdraw money from my Citibank checking account with no charge. The Citizens Bank ATM at LSL charged a fee to withdraw money from my Citibank checking acct. There is an ATM at the postal area in Sabal Chase, but I never used it while I was renting in October. Someone told me there is an ATM at each village's postal facility; I'm sure a TV veteran could confirm that statement.

WE need to e mail NFCU to get them to open up in TV. I am sure there are many members here who would love to have a local branch for their personal banking, instead of being made to open an account at another bank for mortgage, loans investments etc. Also, Walgreens atm no fees as long as it is posted on their machine Co-op.

I agree about a NFCU ATM or branch at the villages. :cus:When I receive checks I have to submit them on line. Then send the check in a pre paid NFCU envelope and wait til it clears. Also there is a limit to the dollar amount you can submit on line.
