Gas Station Competition for 466A!
 

Quite happy to read in the November issue of the VHA newspaper, Villages Voice, that there are plans for a gas station to be built on Villages property along 466A in the future.

Is that adjacent to The Villages Property?

there already is one by Colony Cottage shopping ctr

but that station is totally unreliable when it comes to having gas in the ground! and the price for gas has traditionally been waaaayyyy more than stations within the villages campus!

The operation of the gas station on CR466A is determined by the private owner, over which the The Villages and District have no control on matters such as hours of operation. A second service station is planned on The Villages’ property in the vicinity of CR466A."

that station has been overcharging for a long time. let's get some competition, rah!!

so a new station is going to be cheaper? even with the % they have to pay to TV? It is 'on campus' as well.

While their prices may or may not be lower, any station that won't be closed waiting for a delivery, has got to be an improvement. We've only been here full time since May, and snowflakes since last June, and have gone there on 4 to 5 occasions to fill the cart only to find it closed. One time we had a rental that we drove there to be filled before it was returned, and it was closed. Since it's the only option down this end of TV, unless you want to transport a gas tank, I think something more dependable is a great idea,imho.

reliability is a virtue, more hours would be nice....hopefully they won't sell it to the same operator as the existing one on 466a
