Advantages of OLD age!

Looked in the mirror and said to myself "Not bad", arrived at the golf course and discovered that my pants were on backwards and my lipstick was painted on my chin....Hmm!....What about you?

Oh..it has been great so far.........

I know of all the fun I have had, in every way, and in every decade and I know of all of the fun I am still having.

I am grateful to be here and know that none of us are gettin' out of here alive.

NOW is the time to enjoy life and keep enjoying life and overlook some stuff and celebrate the rest.

So glad you all are here with me.

Just got done golfing down in DelRay Beach. The other 3 guys in the foursome were in there 80's. I am 62. On the first hole, one of them looked at me and said "you're up kid". Love it!!!!

Ok, here's another one of my stories......:icon_bored:

When I was in my 30's I had a cross country visit from my elderly aunt. It was quite unusual.
After lunch, we were sitting quietly on the couch and she began:
" I have something to share that I have discovered in my old age. I realized, that from the time you are born, you are being programmed.... by everyone and everything around you.
As you grow into an adult, you begin to live those programs and make them your 'truth'.
But then you reach full maturity.... at 50, 60 or whatever and something happens inside. One day you tell yourself, "You know, I never liked doing ___ and I'm not going to do it that way anymore."

And so, you begin to discard one by one all the programs that never worked for you and start to choose your own programs.... ones that ring true to you. And you begin to live your life as a real creator, designing your own truths and living your days in authenticity. Quite exciting to have the advantage of 'old age', my niece...,, you have something to look forward to."

Just thought I'd share these thoughts from my beloved "Tia Maya".

Absolutely the nicest way to end a perfect week is to read this.
Food for intense thought.

Advantages of Old Age

My nephew came to the Villages to visit his dying Dad who is still active. After a round of golf they stopped at City Fire for a drink and a talk. They were constantly interrupted by older ladies who were quite drunk at 2 in the afternoon. For my nephew this was a horrifying experience to see women his grandmothers age being so obnoxious and aggressive. Is there a polite way of asking them to go away? What is it about City Fire that attract so many obviously alcoholic and very old women?

To me, a real advantage of getting older is never having to hear "when I was a kid ...." Drove me nuts when I was a kid. Vowed I'd never say it someone younger to me and haven't. Now, I don't hear it.

Like Uptown Girl's aunt, I find it easier to not do something I really don't want to do and I have changed some programs. No really is a perfectly acceptable response.
