Crimes against Seniors
Does Crimes against Seniors have a list of complaints filed? My home is getting to the point that it needs almost everything replaced including roof, ac, and windows and I am trying to make good choices for having the work done. I have checked the BBB site.

Seniors Vs Crime does keep records. They are not allowed to give details of past complaints nor make recommendations. However, if you call and ask if they have had complaints against "XYZ Inc" they can and will answer your question.

Thanks, Bryan! Pat

I think it is a scam to see who is in residence and returns his call quickly, and who is out of town. I'm not sure if I should be calling Crimes against Seniors or the Sumter Police Department. Any ideas, or telephone numbers of who to call? Or am I just being paranoid? |

I filed a complaint with Crimes against Seniors three years ago against a general contractor who hired subs to do the work and by the time they were done my living room ceiling came down and my new patio cracked and is falling apart. My husband had to put the ceiling back together. It was a nightmare and very costly in the end. Crimes against Seniors filed the complaints and were very helpful to us. I must say that when I went after the cement people they could not be found. The general contractor is still in business under the same name. Crimes told me that those sub contractors change their names and continue to work in The Villages and elsewhere. It is scary out there - I suggest to always make sure they are insured and licensed. Some of them have a piece of paper saying they are insured and are not. I was told to always check them out by calling their insurance company. I wish you luck and hope your experience turns out better then ours did.
