Gas Pool Heater

Any advice or help: We are having a pool water heater hooked up to our gas system. We need a gas qualified plumber, any recommendations?

Doesn't the place you are buying it from provide or recommend installation?

WE won't use ours too expensive we're going solar in the spring

We have solar but I want to add more heat for the snowbird season. Yesterday the pool was 84 when I took the cover off. A cloudy day will drop the temp and I'd love to flip a switch to augment the sun.

oh, yes, I would ask the people you bought the system from. I am sure they have recommendations for the proper hook ups. It's very important to have it done right the first time. We had propane to heat our hot tub in the winter when we lived in Orlando. We loved it! No matter how cold it was, the hot tub could be heated very quickly.

We never had any problems, because the pool installer had it done right.

we have solar and gas heat. We keep the gas heater set at 84 year around. In the very cold months with a solar blanket on it usually takes an hour to bring the pool to temp and the solar keeps it there or above.

If you are buying the heater on your own you may be able to save a few dollars initially. What I found was that buying through a company that handles the product, they usually offer a longer warranty and of course if it is their equipment and their installation you can expect better ongoing service. Gas pool heaters have a life of 4-8 years here in FL. Just like a gas grille the burners tend to rust out over time...yes even the stainless steel ones.

I just replaced mine this past week after 7 years.

I used T&D Spa and Pools. They are my original builder/installer of pool and equipment. I could find the same heater online for around $00 less than I paid them. That price of course did not include installation and plumbing or taking the unit to where it needs to be installed.

Sodo your homework.
