Lawn Service Contract ? NO!!
 

Don't sign any contracts for lawn Service ! When we tried to fire PTL Services for unsatisfactory service, they threatened Legal Action and a lien on our house!

Two posts from new member - same issue, same company, same script.

Please relate some more of the details to us, if you would.

I am sorry that you had a bad experience with PTL. We contracted with PTL in 2010 to do all yard work including mowing and also pest treatments. We closed Oct 2010 but could not move down full time until Aug this year (2011). PTL was very clear that we were obligated for 1 year for the initial contract. We were very pleased with the service, particularly the convenience of the all-in-one . Compared to the service that some of our neighbors received from other compaies we were glad that we had PTL. At the renewal date, we chose to go with another service since we plan on doing more of our own yard and garden work so we did not need the all-in-one anymore.

Seems like you can find good and bad about all of the various providers on TOTV. It seems to be a matter of the specific person taking care of your house as opposed to the company. Regarding contracts, most have contracts. PTL does have a monthly contract (after the first year) but it is more expensive.
