Decisions!

Villa or cottage, new or resale .... how to decide! We need 3 bedrooms, we have no pets, not real crazy about yardwork but want to figure this all out!!! We were there over Labor Day and the Villas were the focus of our rep. Now the ones we liked, the Arligton are no longer available. We will be back after Christmas to look again - I think we will focus on the cottage and designer and resale. Any suggestions, observations..... anything will be appreciated. Can't wait to unpack in whatever!!!!
Thanks

One view

Sounds like me 3 years ago, no dog, wanted little maintenance.

We had Lifestyle visit in a 3BR villa and I loved it.

So, I wanted a villa but wife wanted a house.

We got a house...Happy wife, happy life!

Pros of House:
Wide open yard to neighboorhood(Good neighbors)
Bigger garage - 2 full cars vs. 1 1/2.
Laundry inside house.

Cons:
No maintenance-free landscaping available in houses.

Hope this one person's viewpoint helps.

Doctor Who...YOUR HOME IS GORGEOUS. This house won't last for sure.

How can you bear to leave it?????

The home is welcoming and spacious and so beautifully decorated too.

Your link doesn't open up...not compatible to this url is what it said!

That being said...courtyard villas can be wonderful. However my one negative with villas (courtyard or patio) is that you don't have alot of parking outside. Think when the friends and relatives come to visit. Yes, I know there is parking around the corner...but that makes your guests having to walk and what about the holidays when the neighbors also have guests??? Just something to consider!

Thanks for the replies and the assistance with the link (beautiful home). We will be down after Christmas to look some more. If anyone has any helpful hints pass them on!
Also - where is a good restuarant for NYE dinner? We really enjoyed Palmer's Legacy when we were there.

In my opinion, the best deal is to buy a re-sale home. We bought a beautiful 3 bedroom Designer home on a golf course (carefully picked so golf balls do not come into the yard) and got it for lots less than a new home on a golf course. I was able to negotiate price with the seller and in a new home, you do not negotiate at all. I saved about $20,000 in bond payment, have all the existing amenities I would have paid extra for in a new home, and no construction going on around me for the next several months.

I am 10 minutes or so to both Spanish Springs and to Lake Sumter Landing in my golf cart.

Resale is a great way to go because so many owners have added expensive upgrades "because they could". You'd be amazed at the creative ideas owners have built into their properties! And resale puts you closer to Lake Sumter Landing and Spanish Springs.....it's fun to hop on the cart and go over there in just a few minutes, just to see "what's happening".
