Random thoughts on tonight's repub. debate
Wolf Blitzer did the best job of moderating a debate that I can remember.
very good format overall questions were good and substantive for the most part Huntsman is the candidate that comes along each cycle in both parties that is the most sane, reasonable, and impressive, that won't get enough party or grass-roots support to fill a thimble Perry and Cain were exposed as lightweights and mostly over their heads on national security issues Bachman actually pretty sane and on message in this debate, unlike others I have witnessed Ron Paul, as always makes some outstanding points that no one else will touch, while also pushing some rather lunatic ideas. Romney was pretty presidential and made sense on most fronts Santorum should go back home, no depth, no traction Gingrich looks and sounds intelligent, which he is, but he is an ethical non-starter. just for fun - and just my unworthy opinion, and does not necessarily reflect the opinion of the management or posters on totv. By the way, opinion is neither right nor wrong - just one persons perception - if yours differs, let's see it. |
Good analysis, ew.
Romney clinched the nomination tonight. |
Thought tonight's debate and Blitzer's moderator performance were far superior to the previous debate carried on CBS and their biased moderator Pelly. Think Cain is starting to sound too much like he is treating every question as if it was an MBA exercise. Thought several questions were not dealt with and just afforded some the opportunity to re-state their talking points.
Overall I think Romney and Gingrich did well again. I think Gingrich's humane position on the illegal immigrant issue has merit. Too bad more folks watched DWTS. |

As long as Newt and Mitt are the front runners, I can have a bud light and relax.

Remember the blatant attempt to get George Bush to damage himself with the question "What mistakes have you made?" Was he supposed to really answer that straight out? Would anyone? |

The longer they let them ramble the more likely it is they will say something that can run on the evening news. They are looking and hoping for slip ups not leaders. |
Glad to hear you like Huntsman
He really does make a LOT of good points!....Guess not on hit parade because he was US ambassador to China under Obama and some have religious prejudice! I'd certainly vote for him but there is a lot of months
left, anything can and will happen! Quote:

allowing whoever is speaking to ramble actually does a service to the audience as they demonstrate their inability to stay on point. Remember there will be no moderator in the WH to remind the POTUS to get back on topic or shut off the mike.
