Lange Eye Drops Preferred Care Partners
 

Yesterday's Sun in an ad stated that as of January 1, 2012, Lange Eyecare would no longer accept Preferred Care Partners insurance. No explanation was given. If you are a Lange patient with PCP insurance, you need to contact Lange about transferring your records to a different Dr.

I have to say this...PCP is recruiting LOTS of new patients and the options for eyes seems limited. I know this due to trying to book an app't for the new year. First of all found out PCP requires a person to see an optometrist first...THEN you get referred to an opthalmologist "IF" you have "issues". Mid-Florida Eye has PCP with great opthalmologists but I was told their optometrists weren't in the PCP network. There is a place in Ocala that's in the network. At the time of my inquiry Lange was the preferred location in The Villages. This puts a different wrinkly in the mix. Anyone know of other options that we might not know about????

The optometrist at Walmart on 441 in Summerfield is with Preferred Care Providers. Had the appointment with him and he then referred to Florida Retina Institute for a specialist in diabetic retinopathy. I would think he could do a referral for you to Mid-Florida Eye. Worth a phone call to Walmart to inquire.

I just called Preferred Care Partners. If you have a DX ie Glaucoma, your primary care physician will give you a referral to an opthomologist.

I need to call PCP again...a few years ago I was being monitored for glaucoma (higher than usual eye pressure) but then it regulated itself so I'm back to once a year eye checks. HOWEVER I'm also on a high-powered drug now that might affect my eyes...so need to check with "powers that be". HATE change when it affects care!!

.....my husband had a cataract done last week and was told that Lang no longer will be participating in PCP because they don't pay them. Now another friends Cardiologist called them and said that they too are dropping PCP..too late to change plans, but I am going to check out switcfhing to straight Medicare. BTW.. all other Cataract doctors want to do their own tests and hubby just finished having that done....Medicare is being exploited as far as I am concerned........

explanation in short pcp doesn't pay the doctors!.......
